Electric Forklifts for Warehouse Handling

Follow the Flow of Goods
A warehouse forklift works within a wider handling process. Map the route from receiving to storage and from storage to dispatch. Note the points where loads change direction, pass through doors or move between floor levels. The most demanding part of that route can be more important than the average trip.
Include both regular and occasional loads in the discussion. A machine chosen only around the most common pallet may not suit a larger or differently shaped load that arrives later. Share photographs and dimensions where written descriptions are not enough.
Match the Mast to the Building
Storage height, doorway clearance and overhead obstructions need to be reviewed together. The required lift height does not by itself describe the mast configuration that will fit the building. Ask for the relevant dimensions of the specific forklift being proposed.
The relationship between load capacity, lift height and load centre should also be confirmed for that configuration. Attachments can change the capacity information that applies, so include any proposed attachment in the initial enquiry.
Plan the Working Day
Describe how many shifts the truck will cover and when charging can take place. Ask for the battery and charger specification included with the model under discussion. Electrical supply and charging arrangements should be reviewed by appropriately qualified personnel at the receiving site.
For factories that move goods between indoor and outdoor areas, provide the route and surface conditions. Tyres and other configuration choices need to be assessed against the actual application. Product photographs illustrate a machine, but do not establish its suitability for your site.
Compare Complete Proposals
- Truck model and confirmed capacity information.
- Mast dimensions and required lift height.
- Battery, charger, tyres and attachments.
- Delivery contents, documentation and support contact.
Comparing the same set of details makes supplier discussions more useful. The goal is a configuration that matches the handling brief and can be checked clearly when the equipment arrives.
