Choosing a Tractor for Orchard Work

Row spacing, headroom and implement fit are the starting points for orchard tractor selection.

Measure the Working Space

Orchards and plantations place particular demands on machine size. A tractor must move between rows, pass beneath branches and turn at the ends of planted areas. Start by measuring the narrowest routes, not only the average row spacing. Include gates, sheds and any routes used to reach the orchard.

The tractor’s overall width is only one part of the picture. Cab or protective-frame height, the width of the attached implement and turning space all need to be reviewed together. Tell our team which measurements are fixed and which areas can be approached by a different route.

Describe the Seasonal Work

List the jobs the tractor will perform throughout the year. Soil preparation, mowing, transporting materials and other orchard tasks can require different implements and different working speeds. Include the equipment already available on your farm, its model and its connection requirements.

The Mingtuo agricultural tractor range includes the 25 HP micro-tractor and several larger models. The right shortlist depends on your application and confirmed configuration. A compact machine may suit restricted access, while other work may call for a different size or implement capacity. Avoid selecting from a photograph or model name alone.

Review the Complete Combination

An implement can extend beyond the tractor or change the space required to turn. Send photographs showing the whole implement, its hitch and its identification plate where available. Review the tractor and implement as one working combination before finalising the order.

Tyres, wheel track and optional equipment can change a machine’s dimensions. The supplied Zhongtuo 504 and 604 information includes adjustable wheel track and hydraulic power steering. Ask for the exact specification of the proposed machine rather than assuming every model shares those features.

Build Your Orchard Enquiry

  • Minimum row width and branch clearance.
  • Headland dimensions and gate measurements.
  • Ground conditions and seasonal tasks.
  • Implement models, quantity and destination.

A short set of measurements and clear site photographs gives our team a useful basis for a model discussion. The final specification should identify the machine and the equipment included.
